OnePlus 5T Cinematic 4K – LUT Sale – Color Grading Tutorial for OnePlus 5T Camera – Howtoshtab – how to, lifehacks, tips and tricks

so this is the second of the cinematic 4k series the first video that I posted in this series is from the Google pixel to XL camera so a lot of you were wondering how I did the color correction I’m gonna quickly show you guys how I did the color correction for this video you know if you don’t want to go through the hassle of you know color correcting actually I created a LUT package that you can buy from my site there’s a link in the description I have like three different color grade that I’ve included in the pack so you can just buy it and it’ll work in any standard NLE software, the video editing software that you have, like Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve our Adobe Premiere Pro for that matter.

So you should be able to use that and I’ll quickly show you guys how to use that LUT package and then I’ll show you guys how I did the color correction for the OnePlus 5T cinematic 4k series video. So the way I look at color grading is to create contrast right. So there are two ways to create contrast one is to obviously adjusting the highlights and shadows to bring that you know a pop and another way is to create contrast using complementary colors right anyway we are in DaVinci Resolve the reason why I love DaVinci Resolve two reasons right so one is it’s free the DaVinci Resolve light is free and I’ve been editing all my videos and my YouTube channel using DaVinci Resolve free version out of just for royalty I’ll probably end up buying it I now have one of the OnePlus 5T for it that I used in this video loaded up into dementia resolve I’m gonna make some space here so you see this image this is motion time-lapse can you believe this is an image right from the OnePlsu 5T so this is a motion time-lapse i shot using the DJI Osmo mobile the second reason why I love DaVinci resolve is the Nodes feature so you can create nodes by pressing OPT + S I’m assuming it’s probably alt + s in Windows so you create a.

. alt + s or ctrl + s one of those right so you create node and then each node you can actually make adjustments specific to a certain criteria right ooh Warriors game in 30 minutes so you always want to apply the LUT on the last node because that’s the last adjustment that you want to make particularly the nuts that I make I don’t do any of the contrast adjustments using highlights and shadows the contrast is only based on color right because the contrast based on highlights and shadows going to be different for every shot so I’ll let you handle that and then I just give you the the color graded version right so now if I want to apply the color grading to go to the last node go to 3d lut if you have my LUT installed you should say Kartik unboxed 1 + 5 t Lutz I created flare draw and yorda right let’s go and apply the flare so this is a perfect orange and teal but a little bit of D saturated in the mid-tones right so so that’s the look that I have here you still need a little bit of more contrast so then you come back to this node and then start playing with the contents and see how you want to you know make that image pop you go to the Kartik unboxed I have flare install now we’ve got a trawl it’s a completely different color grade maybe it has a little bit more contrast and try and you know change that and see how it works and then the last but not least just my favourite unbox you have the Euro there’s a little bit of Sofia right so so yeah so these are the three grades that I used in the 1 plus 5t cinematic 4k video yeah please check take a look at that LED pack for every phone the way the colour reacts is definitely different for every camera because the sensor the color science behind each camera is completely different because we’re not dealing with raw footage this is actually processed footage from the camera and every camera you know has a different core science right so that’s why it’s it’s very important to create create the color grade getting into color grading I think it really helps you understand the science behind you know why certain colors or certain combination of colors looks appealing to the eye and it’s really important to understand that because when you are color grading you’re creating something different but at the same time you don’t want to create something unnatural so when you look at it it looks pleasing it looks you know out of the world but at the same time it doesn’t look unnatural and unappealing right the way I understand the way I educate myself what color color grading is that everything is lit up you saying you know daylight right so if you look at the sunlight the sunlight can range from you know blue before the sunrise you know you have the blue hour and then you have you know you have the Twilight blue hour and then your sunrise you get this cold yellowish color and you know during the sunrise and then during the midday it really becomes like you know your real daylight and everything looks really normal and then you know towards the end of the evening you’re going to this you know gold a yellowish color and into the sunset and after the sunset you get this like in a blue cold color right so end of the day you’re looking at the variation in daylight you have blue and yellow and teal and orange right so that’s how you get to chill an orange teal an orange you know maybe say it it sounds cliche but you know that’s the most appealing color because it’s natural it’s it’s drawn from the the light that you see every day but it’s put together in a way that you don’t see it ever you know right so you only see it during sunset or sunrise so that’s why you know if you look at a son sunset or sunrise it looks really appealing because we don’t see it every day but it’s still natural because that’s something in the spectrum of the natural sunlight right so that’s the way I understand and I educate myself from when it comes to color grading it so I and I’ll be giving away instruction from the link below so please check it out so if you look at the color wheels you have the warmer yellowish orange tint in the side of the spectrum and right opposite side you have the cooler blue and teal that we just talked about right so they complement each other and that’s why pushing and pulling your image to between these two ranges of colors creates that pop-up for example if I’m creating contrast using highlights and shadows I would like to saved here right so let me show that really quick let’s look at the waveforms I like to look at the waveforms from time to time you you want to go with you know what you feel good when you look at the actual image right so when you buy the book if you go by the book you’re supposed to make sure you know your highlights are close to the top and then your shadows are close to the bottom if that is the case then I need a little bit more dark you know I need to make the shadows little darker over here then if you come to the highlights I want to make sure the highlights are the veil over here and I want to push the highlights a little bit higher to create that contrast right so yeah that looks actually good you know so sometimes following this blindly will give you good result but sometimes you want you want to kind of you know even if you leave a lot of room the top and bottom you still end up with a good you know decent image right so anyway I always look at the image first and make that just contrast adjustments and then see if I’m either clipping or way below right so yeah for this image I want to increase the corner you know brightness a little bit and then decrease the shadows a little bit so get a little bit of a pop right so the reason why I do this in a separate node I want see so I want to do my color grading on this node and then after I do my color grading I want to come back here and then continue to make the adjustment for the darkness and you know brightness to make up for some lost details in the image so I want to do the color grading on this node you know I always taught with the orange and teal and then kind of make an overall temperature adjustment to kind of get the look I want for instance if I go to the shadows I push the shadows a little bit to the warmer temperature towards orange you know right now it looks really bad because we are not compensating for the change with the complimentary color so now I want to come back here and then pull the you know so now you see the greens a little bit back image so this is look how amazingly 1 plus 5t footage is right so you make a such a big change and still the image looks so good if you come back here and then if you turn it off by clicking on the number you can see a slight change you know so now overall I want to make it a little bit more dramatic here and then just maybe pull this now let’s come back here and see right so greens are really popping so now I want to go to the so this is mid-tones right so you have the mid-tones in the in the cooler blue area and then so this is probably not the case for every footage specific to one plus five teal and you can enable it that’s I’m not saying they change okay there yeah right and then here come back here and then make the overall adjustment I kind of changed the highlights highlights retain the highlight that’s where it’s going to affect it looks like it’s going to affect the entire image because you know everything is kind of pride right so and then increase the tiling with the contrast a little bit here and then some saturation over here and then the color temperature so in DaVinci Resolve accorded this press this cocoa here you get to play around with the temperature for the overall image I use this in some of the clips so if you turn it on so this is the grave you get right and then now when you’re gonna have this turned on I see I you know I lost a little bit of contrast I want to come and you know punch it a little bit in and then bring back the highlights that should kind of give us let’s see yeah right there so this is one look right the link is in the description so I’d love it if you guys support me by buying
